Did you ever go through your day and maybe stop and get a coffee with cream and sugar, grab a soda during your day and you may have even started out with a glass of orange juice. Sounds good doesn’t it?

Well if you are looking to drop a few pounds, or just stay there you are at, how bad has you beverages been to your waistline?

Lets take a look at the different drinks and just see what we had added in calories.

Coffee 2 calories for brewed
Cream  = 20 calories for non-dairy
1 teaspoon of sugar = 16 calories
total = 38

We will not count any coffee drinks like a Coffee Coolatta with cream from Dunkin Donuts, This has a total of 330 calories just for a small one. This comes straight from their web site for nutrition. Take a look and see here at  Dunkin Donuts site.

soda 1 can 12 fluid ounces = 143 calories to 170 calories depends on brand that you drink
Note this is not diet type soda witch lacks the chemical sweetener that they use.

Orange juice = 104 for fresh unsweetened or 120 calories for sweetened

If you look at the middle amount of these 3 drinks you would have added 298 calories. Do this just on workdays (5 days a week) and you add 1495 calories a week. Take this for just one month of 4 weeks and you have 5960 total calories. This will add just about 1 and ¾ of a pound. Now you do this for a year and you will add just over 20s pounds of weight.

This extra 20 pounds in a year would happen only if you drank these thing 5 days a week. Now we all eat and drink more on the weekends. I have not even taken this in to account. Another thing you have to remember is as we all age, our metabolism slows down. So now that 20pounds a year can become 25 pounds or more.

So now the next time that you jump on a scale to check your weight, and see an increase, you know now where to start looking at way. Do not fore get the drinks that you have during your day and take for granted. Just our example here is equal to eating your average candy bar, or just one morning donut. It all adds up fast.
