Before trying any of these suggestions, make sure that your doctor has given you the OK to try these exercises. You do not want to injure yourself and further impede your movement. Any type of movement that you do will in turn burn calories for you. However, some movements are better than others.

By doing exercises of any type, you will be raising your heart rate. This is important in that it will help to increase your metabolism and burn calories. As long as you do not eat any more calories, you should see weight loss if you were at a point of just maintaining the weight that you have now. If you are still gaining weight on weekly bases, you are going to have to cut down on your calorie intake to see any weight loss.

One exercise is to stretch your muscles. Work on stretching all of your major muscle groups. This will act as a warm up for your muscles and limber up your joints. Especially do this before doing any other exercise that can strain you. Exercising cold muscles is a good way to get hurt.

Do dips for your legs. If you can only go down part way at the beginning, do just that. Something is better than nothing. You can do trunk twists, by twisting at the waste and keeping your hips forward and turning your upper body left and right. Twist one way and hold it for a few seconds and do the same for the other direction.

For upper body, take both of your arms and reach for the sky. Reach as high as you can. You can stretch chest, shoulder and back muscles by raising your arms parallel to the ground bring them in front of you and cross them if you can. Then swing them so that you are reaching as far back on each side as you can. While doing these moves, make sure to keep you’re arms stretched out straight.

When stretching, make sure not to swing any body part too fast. You do not want to over stretch and pull any muscles. You should only stretch as far as you can and feel some pulling on your muscles and joints without any pain.

Another exercise tip is to swim. This has the least chance of damaging your joints and or muscles through exercising. The water will help in supporting your weight. You can swim at the speed that you feel the most comfortable at to start out with. However, like all exercise, you must push yourself in order to gain any benefit from doing the exercise.

This tip is to simply just walk. If you do not have a treadmill, you can walk around your home if you do not want to go out and walk in your neighborhood. However, getting outside will provide you with fresh air to breath. It is very important to get the fresh air also for your health.

To up the muscle usage, you can simply just walk up and down stairs. Make sure to do it at a pace that you are comfortable at, and do not over do it at first. If you over do any exercise, your muscles will get sore. This could discourage you from continuing on.

When starting out exercising, you want to work the largest muscles first. Like working at your leg muscles will give you the fastest results the quickest. The larger the muscle, the more calories that it will burn, this is really good for starting out and getting results.
