Building a healthy body back from vacation

by Doug M

Well, I hate to say it, but I gained weight on vacation. About 5 pounds as it is. My willpower sucked when we were in Thailand. There just is too much food that I can only get in Thailand. That is not a good excuse, but the only one I can have, other than poor willpower.

I know that should not be an excuse. My main problem as always has been willpower when it comes to food. I also know that is a lame excuse on my part. I have to say that I did find it much easier quitting smoking than I am finding it to be at quitting eating all the bad things. Like I have said 100 times or more here, I have one hell of a sweet tooth.

We have been back almost 2 weeks now and are just getting over jet lag. Jet lag this time seems to be a real problem. Before it was just about 1 week. This time it has been a good week and half. But now my wife and I are getting back to normal sleeping and feeling better.

It is time to get back on the wagon and get this body back into shape. Once I get there, I have to keep it there. It is just too hard at getting the weight off for me now! However, then I guess like all things, this is just mental out look like the rest of life too!

I have to start holding myself to a much higher standard. I have been not using any self-control at all when it comes to food. Time to start walking the talk so to speak.
