in Weight Loss - My Journey

4th of July weekend plus a day

Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 7-3/7-6

Calories consumed respectively 1970, 2315, 2530 & 1929.

As you can see I ate and ate. All it did was make me swell up again with water weight. Friday morning I weighted in at 183 pounds. Sunday morning my weight was 185. Monday morning I weight was 185 1/2 pounds. I ate a lot of empty carbohydrate loaded foods. Also a lot of grilled meat. Meals where way too large for my good.

It is obvious to me that I might get away with eating what I want only one day. And I better not made a habit of it.

For working out Friday I rode my peddle bike for about 1 hour. Saturday I did not work out at all. Just sat in front of my computer and worked, along with some TV. Sunday starting to fill the added weight, I walked on the tread mill fast for 30 minutes. Monday I lifted weights and mowed the grass. Mowing took 40 minutes with a push mower.

For me I do not consider exercising a valid way of burning off added food. I say this because the last time I was into lifting weights, I ate about my same and I did not really loose any weight at all. Maybe even got a little heavier.  Even when I walk at a fast pace, I only burn about 100 calories for a 30 minute walk. To burn off a common candy bar, I would have to walk for 3 hours. Yes I could run and burn more calories, but I hate running. So I do not think the candy bar is worth what it would take to burn it off.

One thing I think even if one is willing to burn off the calories for hi sugar foods, it does the body no good to spike your blood sugar. By every thing I have read, is if you keep spiking your sugar, you get to a point where your body will no longer be able to counter it. Welcome to diabetes.

Now it is time to get my head set right and get back on track. I have a goal, and I do not want to miss it. I want to be in the low 150s by the end of this year. I have only a little less than 6 months till then, so time to get going.
