Wednesday July 8
This mornings weight was 183 & 3/4
Today I ate a total of 1360 calories.
Here what I ate today:
Vegetable Juice
Oatmeal and blue berries
Salmon 2 small cans
1 Apple
2 Celery stacks
10 Almonds
1 Hard boiled egg
2 Protein drinks
15 Cherries
6 oz Salmon and vetables
5 Apricots
As you can see the weight is coming off. I have been drinking a lot of water, about 3/4 gal a day for the last 2 days. This is helping to flush out my system and letting all the excess water go. My body no longer thinks that it needs to hold on to the water, it is hydrated.
I lifted weights today. I am starting to see some extra strength now. I have had to up the amount of weight on all of my starting weights.
I have done some research on how many calories a pound of muscle burns. I found that most sources stating around 6 calories per day per pound. Also how much muscle can you put on in a month? By what I can find that most resources state is that you can get maybe 2 to 6 pounds in a month. But it depends on a lot of different things.
If you are just starting out lifting, you will gain more muscle faster than when you have been at it say 1 year. Your genes will come into play. If you are lucky and have good genes for body building you will gain fast and farther than some one with a lesser gene for it.
The most important thing is how you train and how you eat. Train too much and get into an over train situation and you stop and could start to lose muscle. Don’t train enough and you will not stress the muscles enough to keep gaining. Eat wrong and you will not build the muscle that you could.
All of this may sound like it is not that easy to build some muscle. It is not really that bad, at least for me. Every one is different so you have to experiment and see what works. Starting out you can find out fairly quick . Your body will start to change the fastest at the beginning. But as you go along, adding more muscle will get slower. This is where your training and nutrition will come it to play.
