in Weight Loss - My Journey

Saturday July 11, 2009

I weighed in at 180 & 1/4 pounds this morning. Another day or two and I will be leaving behind the 180s forever. Staying on the road to building a healthy body.

Today I ate a total of 1330 in calories. A little over half of the calories was made up of protein. See the following list of my food for the day:

Vegetable juice

2 Eggs with onion, tomato and cilantro omelet

2 apples

3 Corn on the cob

30 Cherries

5 large chicken wings

I like to keep my protein calories higher than the rest of the food that I eat. But I do not really at this point watch the fat calories from the protein calories. So I would have to say my fat intake is making up a lot of my calories right now too.

I like to try to eat mostly fish and chicken, but I will have pork and beef some times too. I also will not too often eat cured meats like bacon every now and again. The curing chemicals are what is really hard your your health. Plus the red meat is not too good either. But a little every now and again will not hurt.

The biggest no no’s as far as food goes is I try to stay away from any white flower products, and any thing with processes sugar in them. That is for the most part.

If I get a craving for something sweet, I will drink a lot of water to fill me up, or eat some vegetables. Vegetables are filling and low in sugars and calories.

Per ounce celery only has 4 calories, .5 grams of sugars and 1 gram of carbs. Carrot at per ounce has 12 calories, 1.3 grams of sugars and 2.7 carbs. Alarge stack of celery only is 2 ounces or so, and a medium carrot is about the same weight.

My nutrition information comes from CalorieKing. Need a good place to get some nutrition infornation, this is the place to go.
