in Weight Loss - My Journey

Sunday July 7-19, 2009

My weight was 179 pounds and I ate 2410 worth of calories. See what I ate this day in the following list:

Vegetable Juice

2 Eggs and 2 Strips of Bacon

1 Tortilla

Dried Anchovy

1/2 Turn over

1 Piece of Cake

1/2 Chicken wrap

Chicken and Vegetables

I walked fast on the treadmill today for 30 minutes. My wife and I went to a friends birthday party. Needless to say I ate more than I should have. But I guess one or 2 days of eating too much will not hurt me too bad. But I will see my weight tomorrow.

7-20,2009 Monday

Well this morning I weighed in at 179 & 3/4. I also ate a total of 1630 in calories. Not as low in calories as I would like to have had it, but we have left overs from yesterdays party. See the following list to see my food.

Vegetable Juice

Oatmeal and Blue Berries

2 Celery stocks

1 Apple

20 Almond

1 Protein Drink

1 Tortilla

Granola Bar

Pork and Vegetable Wrap

1 Piece of Cake

As you can see I did eat a bit more than I should have. My weight is too close to 180 pounds. I must do a better job at not eating too much. I just have to make better choices of what I chose to put in my mouth. As my weight gets closer to my target, I will have to really do a better job at watching what I eat. I get away with some over eating and also bad choices because I am still carrying a lot of fat.

I did lift weights today. I also walked fast on the treadmill. I am starting to have to go faster to get my heart rate at 75% of my maximum rate. Again to figure this out, take your age from 220 and then multiply by the percent in decimal format. Like 220 – 54 = 166 and then 166 x .75 = 124.5 beats per minutes.

Lifting today seamed harder too. One thing about lifting, You will not be as strong some days as others. This is to be expected. But it does not mean that you have a bad day. You are still working your muscles to failure and that is what you want to do. But even if the lifting seemed harder, the fast walk was a breeze.
