Building a Healthy Body Day 34 & 36

7-21,2009 Tuesday

Well here I find my self again in the 180s with a weight of 180 & 1/4 pounds. Needless to say I was not happy with myself for the lack of will power on eating. The worst time is in the evening. Though I have gotten some peanut butter crackers from the machine at work. An other mistake on my part.

I broke out an old book that I have to get some inspiration. The book is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. If you do a web search for it , you can find it for free in a PDF format. Yes the book is geared for making money, but  you use the principles for any thing you want to do. If you read this book and have studied any self help guru at all, you will see some similarities in the later produced stuff.

The most important part of any of the methods used for self improvement is to remember to use the methods taught. It is easy to forget about your goals in your daily rush to go through life.  This is why a lot of people fail to change the way they go through life.

I always have been a student of the ways of the eastern philosophies. One thing that stands out to me is to always be aware of your thoughts and surroundings. This will help you from falling into old habits and acting automatically.Yes I have always strived to do this , but I need a reminder every now and again too.

Here is what I ate today to consume 1618 calories:

vegetable Juice

Tortilla and Peanut butter

1 Carrot

Celery

1 Can Salmon

1 Protein Drink

20 Almonds

Peanut Butter Crackers

Sardine Dip

Cucumber

Pork and Tortilla

I did lift weights and walked fast on the treadmill for 30 minutes.

7-22,2009 Wednesday

My weight is back into the 170s again with the weight being 179 & 3/4 pounds this morning.  Yesterday was a reminder of what can happen if I let the old ways of eating creep back into my life.

This just goes to show that anything worth having does require some hard work. Changing ones life style is not a cake walk. I guess if it was, it would not have the same satisfaction when one reaches their goal. You can always take an earlier example of anything that you have accomplished before to help boost your drive to finish what you have started. It does not matter how big or small the event of task was that you accomplished. It will give you a taste of accomplishment and add to your drive to keep on doing more to get to your goal.

I ate the following today for a calorie intake of 1275:

Vegetable Juice

Pork and vegetable wrap

1 Apple

1 Small can of Salmon

1 Protein Drink

20 Almonds

Peanut Butter Crackers

Chicken Wrap

Mixed Fruit Cup

I lifted weights today. I did not walk on the treadmill though. Though I will say that yesterday I did notice that I will have to start running on the treadmill to reach my target heart rate now. I walked about as fast as I could yesterday and my heart rate was just barely making the bottom end of the range that I strive to stay in.I am definitely getting stronger and am gaining more stamina.

Napoleon Hills book is one of the greatest in showing any one how to get what you really want. As you said, his ways will work with anything you want to achieve. Staying in shape is just as important as making money. That way you can live a healthier longer life to enjoy what you make. Good Luck losing your weight!
