Today is June 17, 2009 and it is the day that I have started to change the way I eat and exercise my body. My weight today is 188 pounds. I have started a log for keeping track of my food intake and exercise. For the food end of it, you will know exactly what you have eaten and the amount of calories too. On the exercise side you will see progress as you go.

On this day my total calorie count was 2055, and I weight was 188 in the morning. I eat the following:
1 and ½ peanut butter sandwich
3 apples
Can of salmon 7 oz
10 almonds
Vegetable juice
½ can of beans
A few crackers
1 Milky Way candy bar

Note: The vegetable juice is fresh made in the morning with 4 to 5 carrots, ¼ to ½ beet, 2 apples, ginger and some green type of vegetable like parsley or kale. My wife and I split this for about 8 oz each. This is done every morning with no exceptions.

I start to weight train today also. To stay out of trouble with Jon Benson and Tom Venuto authors of Fit over 40 I will not go into detail of my lifting. But I will say all you have to do here is train your 5 major muscle groups just once a week. I also walked at a decent clip on the treadmill for 30 minutes right.

Today’s food intake was a little excessive, but it is a start to see where it leads me.
